Pit of Destruction: A Thrilling New Chapter in Transformers: REANIMATED!
It’s here! Transformers: REANIMATED Issue 67 is ready to roar into action, and trust us, you’re not going to want to miss this one. The title, Pit of Destruction, might sound familiar, as if history is repeating itself… but this time, the stakes are higher, the battles are fiercer, and the surprises are bound to leave you speechless.
This issue has been a labor of love, crafted by Greig and I over the past year with one simple-yet-thrilling goal: to create the ultimate Jumpstarters adventure. Twin Twist and Top Spin have always been iconic figures, and now they’re taking center stage in a story that’s as fast and as daring as they are.
For both Greig and I, the Jumpstarters hold a special place in our hearts. Growing up in the ’80s, these were some of the few Transformers toys we ever owned, and they were played with endlessly. Writing this story felt like giving that 8-year-old kid in us the epic adventure he always dreamed of.
And what an adventure it is! From explosive action to jaw-dropping twists, this issue is packed with moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat. We genuinely wish we could see your faces as you experience each (Twin) twist and (Top) spin for the first time!
Inspiration for this story not only came from the toys we played with as kids, but also the Transformers season 2, Episode 31, titled: ‘The Gambler’.
To bring the high-octane energy of this story to life, we’ve teamed up with the incredible Transformers artist Jim Stafford, who has delivered a stunning cover that perfectly captures the Jumpstarters’ breakneck style. It’s fast. It’s furious. It’s everything you’d hope for in a Transformers adventure!

The Jumpstarters, Twin Twist and Top Spin, are on a routine exploratory mission for new Energon sources when an unexpected Autobot distress signal draws them to the mysterious asteroid Monacus. But what they discover is no ordinary rescue mission—it’s a trap! Captured by the ruthless Lord Gyconi, the brothers are thrust into the brutal Pit of Destruction, forced to battle a savage Animalien in a fight for survival. With every clash in the pit, the stakes rise. Can Twin Twist and Top Spin break free from Gyconi’s iron grip, uncover the origin of the distress signal, and escape this treacherous asteroid? Or will the unrelenting Animalien bring their mission—and their lives—to a tragic end?
We are so thrilled to have Jim Stafford back on a Transformers: REANIMATED cover. He really brought the 1980s’ Jumpstarters to life on this blazing fast image. Inspiration for his cover comes from Jack Keller’s Grand Prix, issue 16.
This month we are also introducing the third in a new set of Corner Box Characters we will be adding to our cover rotation.
Created by Casey Collar and John-Paul Bove, January’s corner box brings in Omega Supreme.
“Corner box choice… appropriate.”
Written by Youseph (Yoshi) Tanha from the YoshiCast and Greig Tansley from the Unfunny Nerd Tangent podcast, this G1 adventure follows in the Transformers: ReAnimated tradition of bridging the gap between the cartoon’s second season and the 1986 Movie that defined the childhood of millions.
So, if you did like issue 67: Pit of Destruction, then please consider contacting the other SKYBOUND Entertainment (Via E-mail or Twitter) and let them know you would have liked to see Transformers: REANIMATED as an ongoing comic book series written by Yoshi and Greig.
